Core Being: Foundations Part 3- Watch the Recording!

Free Introductory Session #3

‘Once you realize that the person is merely a shadow of the reality, but not the reality itself, you cease to fret and worry. You agree to be guided from within and life becomes a journey into the unknown.’

— Nisargadatta Maharaj, quote from I Am That

Thank you to all who participated today! Here is the recording of the session.

For those of you new to the CORE BEING Substack, this is the third video to watch in the introductory series.

You can find the first video here and the second video here.

Today was all about the Five Personality Patterns. As I shared, this is not a personality test: these are the ‘stress patterns’ we learned and adopted when we were young.

The patterns you run are not YOU. And the answer is always to return to Core Being, to your natural Presence— to get out of and to shift away from these (usually) unconscious habitual responses and defenses.

As mentioned, there are many models that use some version of these patterns. This is because they are easy to identify, hold true for all of us, and are very useful to understand.

I mostly reference the books by Steven Kessler, as these are the most accessible and balanced approach for the layperson.

Here are the two books that were mentioned:

The 5 Personality Patterns: Your Guide to Understanding Yourself and Others and Developing Emotional Maturity by Steven Kessler

How to Have Better Relationships: The Skills You Need, the Actions to Take, based on The 5 Personality Patterns by Steven Kessler

We are also considering adding a book club to the Core Being Substack soon, which would be open and free to all. This would be the first book, and then many more could be explored together.

Even for those who attended today, it can be useful to re-watch sessions, as usually we get more out of them the second time around.

You might want to revisit the Heart-Centered Meditation, to practice connecting to the heart, as well as grounding, and finding the edge of your energy field. The more you practice returning to Core being, the easier it gets!

Keep working with what you learned today, and I’ll see you again in January! And keep an eye out for more info, as well as some fun posts, between now and then.

Until then, remember, the answer is always to return to your Center.
